Introducing the Schedule Addon

by Thomas Griffin on April 29, 2014

When you have the best responsive WordPress image and video slider on the market, what more can you ask for? How about the ability to schedule your slider, both to appear and disappear with the simplest of effort? Now you can.

schedule

The schedule addon for Soliloquy allows you the ability to schedule both your slider and your individual slider images.  You can set both start times and end times for your slider or images, allowing you to create your sliders on your timetable and let them post when appropriate.  Depending on your settings, you can allow the slider or images to show up immediately, allowing them to remain indefinitely, or any setting in between.

How can this schedule addon be utilized? Perhaps as the seasons change, you want your homepage slider images to change; you could then plan out your slider at the beginning of the year with your quarterly images or videos, make the appropriate schedule settings, and let Soliloquy handle the rest. Perhaps, for special occasions, you want a slider to be removed after a certain date — a Christmas themed slider for example. You may have your Christmas themed image slider present for the month of December but then have your slider schedule to automatically disable on December 26. With the best WordPress slider plugin on the market, scheduling your slider is as easy as a click of the button.

Check out this video that shows you just how easy it is to use the new schedule addon for Soliloquy.

Ya ever run over to fiverr and see their different headlines based on which part of the day you’re viewing their site? “…Good Morning” shows up in the morning, “Time to take a lunch break” shows up towards the middle of the day. “Up Late” shows up in the wee hours of the evening / am. See what I’m saying?

NOW THAT would be some really cool scheduling that would be awesome to see. The date option might be cool for some holiday / seasonal stuff, but that’s just as easy as changing a slider manually. Add the option for a slider to appear in the morning, another to appear around lunch time, a different one to show up during ‘prime time’, then another for folks up late. Now THAT would be a function that’s worth SHOUTING about!

You can do that with the Schedule addon! You can set specific times, say from 9am-3pm for slides and/or sliders. 🙂

[facepalm] At 1:13 it does have a little clock on it. That would indeed imply a time can be set!! [/facepalm]

Ok, so again, just to clarify ( b/c my online spending is equivalent to a Kardashian at the mall) before I snag this, I want to make sure…. It can be set to having the [start] date x3, and then simply changing the times in each calendar will achieve what I’m wanting, right?

It can be set to having the [start] date w/3 different calendars (in other words, there won’t be a conflict when I set all three calendars for the same start date), and then simply changing the times in each calendar will achieve what I’m wanting, right?

        oh, one more question…
Each of our stores is a multisite of the main domain. Once I create a slider, can it be used on all the store’s individual sub.domain w/out having to create sliders (30+) for each store? Thanks!
