Soliloquy Pricing Structure Change – Lifetime for Everyone!

by Thomas Griffin on January 10, 2013

Use the coupon PRICINGUPDATE to receive 10% off your order!

I have been thinking about this for some time, but it finally came to a head this week when my server crashed 4 times in a matter of 3 days. Cart66 was the cause of all the trouble, and it finally pushed me over the edge.

After talking it over with some people, it became clear that the current pricing structure just was not working for Soliloquy. Even I admit that I don’t like the current structure. I myself would never pay a recurring subscription for a slider (no matter how good it was), so how could I expect others to do it too? I am supremely grateful and humbled that my current customers would be loyal to purchase anyways.

Don’t get me wrong – I still firmly believe Soliloquy is the best slider plugin on the market. It’s code, speed and integration with WordPress is second-to-none. However, after thinking about it for a month, it still does not warrant a recurring subscription. People buy sliders as one-of things to solve a problem. Whether it be a client site or their own personal site, it’s a one-and-done type thing. Soliloquy makes it super easy to get that thing done, and then you simply forget about it. That is until your subscription renews..

That was exactly my thought process. I would be so upset to pay for something *again* after I hadn’t touched it for a year, so how in the world could I expect my customers to do the same?

In that light, I’m am completely changing up the pricing structure of Soliloquy. All Soliloquy licenses are now lifetime licenses, both for the plugin and support/updates. Soliloquy will soon have a tiered approach to selling both the main plugin and the Addons. After receiving lots of feedback from customers and other product sellers, I believe this will be the best way to move forward and provide the best value for customers.

Luckily for you, during this time of transition away from Cart66 and to the new pricing structure, developer license holders will be getting a sweet deal. When I switch over the pricing model, all customers prior to the switch who hold a developer license will get access to all of the Addons, both now and in the future, for life!Β This won’t be the case when the new pricing structure emerges (Addons will be purchased separately), so there has never been a better time to upgrade or to purchase a developer license than now.

If are a single license holder, you can upgrade straight from your Member’s Area dashboard. If you are already a developer license holder, rejoice! πŸ™‚

I’m uncertain as to how long this transition will take, but seeing the recent server issues I have faced in regards to Cart66, I imagine it won’t be long until I have everything switched over, so don’t delay on either purchasing or upgrading your license.

As an added bonus, I’m opening up a 10% off coupon for those who purchase or upgrade the plugin from now until I have the new pricing model in place. Just use the code PRICINGUPDATEΒ at the checkout to receive 10% off your order.

I’m really exciting for the things I have planned ahead, and I hope you are too. I am so very thankful for your, my customers, for sticking with Soliloquy through all this – you rock!

I can not find pricing for Add Ons. Do you have a page for this info? It will help me to evaluate the value of a developer license.

It’s really nice of you! To be honest, I was little reluctant while buying Soliloquy for the first time until I saw your offer for lifetime developer’s license and made the purchase.

Hope you will be doing lot more with Soliloquy. πŸ™‚
