The Dynamic Addon is Here + Easter Sale!

by Thomas Griffin on March 26, 2013

Finally – the Dynamic Addon is here! You can get 20% off using the code DYNAMIC at the checkout.

The Dynamic Addon allows you to create Soliloquy-based sliders on the fly using a shortcode or template tag. You can create sliders from images attached to a post, a custom image set, a WordPress gallery or even your NextGen gallery! Take a look at the video below to see how easy it is to make a Soliloquy-based slider from a NextGen gallery.

The Dynamic Addon is the first of its kind being a premium Addon. This Addon is available for purchase outside of the regular licenses for $19. Any license holder can purchase and use the Dynamic Addon, so both single and developer license holders can use this Addon in their projects. Remember, only developer license holders have access to basic Addons.

The Dynamic Addon is just one more step in the direction of making Soliloquy your all-in-one solution for sliders in WordPress. Now you can create sliders insanely fast with the Dynamic Addon and enjoy the same speed, flexibility and power of Soliloquy.

The Dynamic Addon requires WordPress 3.5 and Soliloquy 1.4.9.1 to work, so be sure to take note of that when you go to install and activate the Addon.

I have already written some extensive documentation on how to use the Addon, including setting up shortcodes and template tags, explaining configurations and listing our all of the available options for per-slider customization.

As another note, Easter is right around the corner, so I’m celebrating both Easter and the Dynamic Addon with a sale! Get 20% off your entire purchase order (upgrades included) by using the coupon code DYNAMIC. This expires April 1, so make sure to get it while it is hot!

I’m excited about the possibilities of the Dynamic Addon, and I hope you are too! 🙂

Update: As pointed out in this comment, Premium Addons are different from the basic Addons that come with a developer license purchase. Premium Addons are a separate purchase altogether for both single and developer license holders and can be used by either license.

Wait… so if you’ve already paid the $99 for the developer license that states “Exclusive Access to Every Soliloquy Addon”… you still need to pay another $19?

Thanks for your question. Premium Addons require a separate purchase altogether. I’ve updated terminology so that developer license holders get access to Basic Addons.

The reason why this addon is considered “premium” is because it is essentially a standalone plugin that makes use of the Soliloquy engine and codebase. All other addons directly integrate with Soliloquy – this one does not. Any Addon that does not directly integrate with Soliloquy will be considered a “premium” Addon.

The Thumbnails Addon (which will be launched when WordPress 3.6 releases) will be a basic Addon since it uses and filters Soliloquy directly.

      Does that explanation help?

It’s disappointing. I can understand if it was not related to Soliloquy, but part of the reason I spent the money is because I was buying into you, as a plugin developer, and the concept of the free add-ons. It was originally advertised as the developer license getting ALL add-ons. From a customer service perspective, I really think you should grandfather those who signed up for the “all add-ons” program, and maybe look at charging new people the additional fee. I was recommending your solution to a couple of people just yesterday, but now I’m not feeling as good about doing that. Keep your existing customers happy, and they will always find you new ones. One detractor requires at least 15 supporters to make up for the potential lost business.

I truly am sorry that I’ve disappointed you. It was never my intent. There had to be a distinction between this addon and the others because this is another plugin that has to be maintained separately apart from Soliloquy itself. As Soliloquy updates, the other Addons do not necessarily need updating; this one, however, by nature must be managed alongside Soliloquy and update each time Soliloquy has an update.

To be sure, you are not loosing me as a developer nor losing free addons. The Thumbnails Addon will be free, the Captions Addon will be free, the White Label Addon will be free as well as many others. This one just happened to be in a different class and needed to be separated from the others. It’s not likely that many will be created like this – in fact, I can’t think of any others at this time that would work like this one. But there needed to be a distinction, and that’s why I chose this one to be a premium Addon.

I’d hate to see you leave, but I understand if you feel differently.
