
How to Create a WordPress RSS Slider
Do you want to create a slider from your site’s RSS feed? Sometimes you may need to get the content from multiple websites and display them beautifully into the image sliders. In this tutorial, we will share how to create a WordPress RSS slider.

To create a WordPress RSS slider, you’ll need to follow these 7 steps:
- Step 1. Install and activate Soliloquy slider plugin
- Step 2. Install and activate Featured Content addon
- Step 3. Install and activate WP RSS Aggregator plugin
- Step 4. Add your website’s feed to get the content
- Step 5. Create a new slider with featured content
- Step 6. Edit the slider settings to call the RSS feed

Step 1: Install and Activate Soliloquy Slider Plugin
The first thing you need to do is to install and activate Soliloquy slider plugin on your WordPress admin backend.

Step 2: Install and Activate Featured Content Addon
Once the plugin is activated, you need to go to Soliloquy » Addons to install and activate the Featured Content addon.
To access this addon, you must have Soliloquy’s Developer or Master license. Wondering where to go? Simply upgrade your license from here.
This addon will allow you to create sliders from external sources like RSS feed of website(s).
Step 3: Install and Activate WP RSS Aggregator Plugin
Now you should get the RSS feed items in your site to create the slider. Simply install and activate WP RSS Aggregator plugin.
It will create a new custom post type in your WordPress admin as RSS Aggregator.
Step 4: Add Your Website’s Feed to Get the Content
You need to go to RSS Aggregator » Add New to add the RSS feed. It allows you to add multiple feeds one by one.
Add the feed name and URL for the site. The other settings are like limit of feed items, link and more.
You can check your feeds at RSS Aggregator » Feed Sources.
Step 5: Create a New Slider With Featured Content
Once the feed settings are done, go ahead and create a new slider from Soliloquy » Add New. Add a title and go to the External Slider tab. Select the Featured Content option from here.
Next you’ll need to edit the settings for the RSS feed slider.
Step 6: Edit the Slider Settings to Call the RSS Feed
Scroll down to Slider tab. In the Select Your Post Type(s) field, you need to select Feed Item.
You can also select the Feed Source as post type. It will display the main website title in the slider.

Step 7: Display the WordPress RSS Slider on Your Site
After all the settings, you need to hit the Publish button. Simply copy the shortcode from Soliloquy Slider Code widget.
Now go to Pages/Posts » Add New or edit an existing WordPress page/post. Paste the shortcode in the visual editor.
Make sure to click on the Publish/Update button.
