New Addon: Filters

by Thomas Griffin on June 6, 2012

Check it out – I’ve been hard at work on a new addon, and it is now ready to be used and abused by my fellow Soliloquy lovers. The Filters addon is here.

What is the Filters addon, you say? The Filters addon gives you the ability to choose from over 25 different image filters and apply them to your images. You can select from Grayscale, Sepia, Contrast, Brightness and a slew of other different types of filters for your images. Check out the slider below and the video demonstration of how it works:

Pretty sweet, right?

And just like you have come to expect with everything else Soliloquy, there is no residue or unnecessary usage of stuff with the Filters addon. It simply takes your image, crafts a new one with a filter and stores in alongside of your original image. When you delete your original image, your filtered images get deleted too. The addon even preserves transparency layers in GIF and PNG files.

As of right now, the Filters addon only supports JPG/JPEG, PNG and GIF files, which should catch most everyone. Other filetypes can be supported by using filters/hooks provided within the plugin.

So what do you think? Do you find the Filters addon useful? I believe the Sepia and Grayscale filters will be the most popular and beneficial ones in the addon, but I’d love to hear your thoughts too!
