July 4th Sale + Updates and Docs Galore!

by Thomas Griffin on July 2, 2013 | Reader Disclosure

The 4th of July is just around the corner, so Soliloquy is celebrating with a sale!

From now through July 7, you can get 25% off your entire order when you use the code BANG2013 at the checkout.

This sale includes upgrades, the Dynamic Addon and support tokens.

Soliloquy Updates + Docs Additions

I am taking time this week specifically to bring updates to Soliloquy, all of the Addons and the documentation section of the website. Some much needed documentation will be added, some important updates will be made and all around improvements will be addressed in general. Here are some updates you can expect:

Soliloquy

Soliloquy itself will see an update that will auto-restart the slider after a video finishes playing, an update to the caption area so that you can use the TinyMCE editor, and a new CSS module for quickly adding and styling your individual sliders. Beyond this, there will be other general improvements and bug fixes.

Preview Addon

The Preview Addon will see an update to fix some inconsistencies with rendering HTML slides and other general improvements.

Lightbox Addon

The Lightbox Addon is going to see a few much needed improvements, such as the automatic linking of images. I will also be working on incorporating the Magnific Popup Responsive Lightbox into the plugin as an alternative to the default prettyPhoto lightbox. Magnifiic Popup is responsive and faster than prettyPhoto, so I will be providing this option as the default in the next update.

Featured Content Addon

The Featured Content Addon will be updated so that you can use excerpts as your content output. This update will come first out of all the updates since it is much needed and requested. 🙂

Themes Addon

The Themes Addon will see two new themes come out in the next update that will continue to enhance and make your sliders look better than the competition.

The Captions Addon is on its way!

Finally, I have begun working on the Captions Addon. In the Captions Addon, you will be given the ability to animate elements in your caption. I am working on the API for it so that it will be easy to use. I know lots of folks will be excited about this one!

Documentation Updates

I will be making some much needed documentation updates. The first of which will be the CSS styling guide and then some other needed documentation pieces, including a few video tutorials. This will be beneficial to everyone, so keep on the lookout for those updates.

As always, I wish you the best in your web endeavors and am grateful that you would choose Soliloquy as your WordPress slider plugin of choice. Enjoy the sale, look out for the updates and tell all your friends too!

Really looking forward to this update — the slideshow auto-restart after a video plays is critical to our project using Soliloquy.

Happy to see some additions to the Docs section. Any info on when we can see some more info on CSS Styling? I was able to change the buttons and positioning of the slider now, but I’m stuck on a few other changes
