Best Responsive WordPress Slider — Introducing Soliloquy Version 2

Introducing to you the best responsive WordPress slider plugin reimagined: Soliloquy 2.0.

The Best Responsive WordPress Slider Plugin Reimagined

Soliloquy has been redesigned with these goals in mind: to continue to be the best of the best in responsive WordPress slider plugins, to be incredibly fast and scalable no matter what the circumstances and to provide you with the best experience possible when creating your next WordPress slider. v2 of Soliloquy has done all these things remarkably well.

When I began to embark on the journey to create the next iteration of Soliloquy, I knew that it would be a tough battle. After all, Soliloquy was my very first product, and I had made plenty of mistakes along the way, both in business and in product architecture and design. I felt the weight of those limitations back in October of last year. I had hit the tipping point of pushing Soliloquy where I wanted it to go and was stuck. The architecture wouldn’t allow me to grow without sacrificing what I loved so much: speed and simplicity. It was then that I began the tedious reimagining of Soliloquy to make it scale to anything I could think of.

That day has finally come. The architecture behind Soliloquy v2 is incredibly solid and durable. More importantly, it is insanely fast and flexible, which means I can continue building in awesome stuff to the plugin at a much more rapid pace than before.

One of the more powerful features of v2 is the fact that caching is built into every public facing thing about the plugin. Anytime you try to retrieve a slider, it is cached. Updating a slider? The cache is flushed and a new cache is built. Aggressive caching plus powerful query optimization makes Soliloquy one of the leanest and meanest WordPress slider plugins you will ever find. It’s hard enough to find plugins that load assets properly much less think about caching their expensive queries. Soliloquy does all of this for you so that you can rest easy knowing that speed is taken care of.

On the front end, I have further tweaked and optimization my dynamic asynchronous ajax preloading technique that I introduced in the fall of last year. Sliders now appear on the screen faster than ever. You simply cannot beat this loading technique – no other slider can match it or even come close.

Combine server-side caching with front end ajax preloading and you get a powerful speed combination that is unmatched in the WordPress slider market today.

On top of all the speed improvements, I wanted to improve the workflow as well. You will find that the UI for Soliloquy is much cleaner and more intuitive now. The experience around building, modifying and displaying your sliders is easier than ever. I have improved video and HTML slide support for a better experience as well.

Beyond this, one of the most important updates in v2 of Soliloquy is its flexible API architecture. With the new set of hooks and filters, the possibilities with Soliloquy are literally endless, and because the structure is focused on speed, the possibilities will not be hampered by performance. I think you will start to see some very incredibly things coming out of Soliloquy in the next few months as folks really start to take hold of how easy it is to extend Soliloquy in the future.

I am very excited for the future of Soliloquy and am continuing to work hard to be the #1 best responsive WordPress slider plugin on the market. With your help, we can make it happen! Thanks for continuing on this journey with me, and I look forward to what 2014 has in store!

Upgraded to v2 and the edit page in WP is froze up. The slider updated and is working but I can’t edit or make any changes to existing.

If I purchase the Lifetime developer license, dose that mean lifetime or just for soliloquy 2, when soliloquy 3 eventually comes out would you try charge again. (asking because this has append with another product I bought elsewhere)

With the lifetime license, you purchase one time and you will always get updates and support, even for major upgrade bumps.

Does the paid version of Soliloquy 2 let you set the time for each slide individually?
